Answer ala - “Bb. Pilipinas 2008 - Ms World”
Just watched Bb. Pilipinas 2008 pageant Q&A portion and it reminded me of my visit in a toastmaster club late January. In tagalog, nag-ala “Bb. Pilipinas 2008 - Ms World” ako. It’s custom in a toastmaster club that they will have an impromptu speech for their members. As a visitor and a second timer visitor that is, I never expected them to call me because I was just there as a spectator. When they called my name, my body already started to shake and my hands sweating. The whole time I was answering, I looked like this
I know I don’t have Ms Janina’s confidence but thank God I was still able to answer the question and THANK GOD the members and evaluators there was so KIND to still appreciate my answer because they know it was my first time.
To Janina, I know the 50% of how it feels. 50% because I was standing only with a small crowd. Bring back that confidence and practice more for the upcoming pageant. And PLEASE if you are not confident enough to use english, TAGALOG is your second option and you will not be the first one to use a native language in answering questions. Heads up and Good luck!

This situation reminds me of my sister. She’s indeed a very good web and graphics designer, but she doesn’t excel much in speaking English both written and oral.

we don’t have to be a trying hard perfectionist english speaker nor writer. Tagalog naman ang first language ntin. Bakit pag tagalog di tyo natatawa sa mga sarili ntin pag baluktot ang pagbuo ng mga pangungusap? Ironic that we want to be so perfect in english and yet we cannot perfect our tagalog nor do we want to use pure Tagalog in a Filipino environment?

It’s a good point and I agree. I remember one time, there was this anonymous person who post a comment in my blog that was about 1 yr ago, and said “Mag-tagalog ka na lang!” I really wanna bash that person hiding his identity, bully his face in personal and smashed off his tits because that time I mean it that my English is poor.lolx. But then, since then, after then, whatsoever then, my way into practice is through blogging.
